A scheduled inspection of AF system
A scheduled inspection is performed no later than in 5 (five) years’ time from the moment of completion of the acceptance testing of the aerosol fire-extinguishing system on board of the vessel in accordance with the “Schedule and methods of scheduled inspections of aerosol fire-extinguishing systems” elaborated by the LLC Research and Production Facility “KASKAD” and approved by the Register. The date of completion of acceptance testing of the aerosol fire-extinguishing system must be recorded in the Acceptance testing protocol.
ОA scheduled inspection of an aerosol fire-extinguishing system must be performed by its manufacturer or by an organization authorized by the LLC Research and Production Facility “KASKAD”. The results of annual and scheduled inspections are recorded in the operation log of the aerosol fire-extinguishing system. For us to set up the schedule and to calculate the price of work performance, it is sufficient to send to our address the filled out «Download the Request for inspection of an aerosol fire-extinguishing system».
- a check of the project and operating documentation;
- an inspection of fire-extinguishing aerosol generators;
- an inspection of electric circuits, of the auxiliary relays panel and of the sound-and-light alarms;
- an inspection of the control and Signaling Panel;
- a test of the aerosol fire-extinguishing system (with simulation systems) in the “Extinguishing” mode (with a delay of the start moment);
- a test of the aerosol fire-extinguishing system (with simulation systems) in the “Emergency extinguishing” mode (with no delay of the start moment);
Inspection results are recorded in the Scheduled inspection of the onboard aerosol fire-extinguishing system record sheet.
Should the tests fail to produce satisfactory results, it is necessary to detect and eliminate deficiencies or come to an agreement concerning deadlines for their elimination.
Operation of an aerosol fire-extinguishing system with deficiencies which impair its functional capabilities is inadmissible. Such deficiencies must be eliminated immediately.
In case of the inspection’s positive results, the period of the generators’ operation can be prolonged till the end of their working lifespan upon filing it under the Act of the scheduled inspection of the aerosol fire-extinguishing system. One copy of this Act is to be sent to the SPA“KASKAD” Ltd.
Upon the expiry of the generators’ working lifespan they must be in any case substituted while the aerosol fire-extinguishing system is to be checked to the extent and by the methods required by the start-up and adjustment activities and acceptance testing of aerosol fire-extinguishing systems.
